WordPress Translation (WPfanyi.com) is one of the projects under the Weixiaoduo WordPress Ecosystem Hub.

Why provide Chinese translations for WordPress?
WordPress has been translated into189 languages supported globallyOn the internetMore than one-third...websites are built using WordPress, yet in China, only... 1% ...market share.
This starkly disproportionate ratio gave us pause for thought—and, beyond mere reflection, prompted us to take action…
The official WordPress.org plugin directory contains over 60,000 free extensions, the majority of which lack Chinese language translations.
While popular plugins like WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, and bbPress have seen enthusiasts and contributors take over their translations in recent years, variations in individual contributors' comprehension and language proficiency often lead to numerous translation errors.
To create a blog, simply choose a clean, elegant blog theme; to build an online store, just install a theme compatible with WooCommerce.
WordPress offers a vast array of free and premium themes, unmatched by any other CMS in terms of both quantity and quality. Most of these themes are created by talented web design and development teams from around the world, and therefore do not include native Chinese language support.
Using WordPress can make you a bit "lazy"—no matter what feature or effect you’re looking for, you can almost always find a corresponding plugin or resource, and usually for free.
Within the broader WordPress ecosystem, over 90% of technical documentation is in English. In the Chinese-speaking world, such resources are extremely scarce, often inconsistent in quality, and fail to provide a systematic learning experience.
Translation (Localization into Chinese)
Many people may be familiar with the concept of "localization" (translating foreign content into Chinese) from downloading patches for foreign games or using subtitles created by fan groups for movies and TV series. While the core task—translation—is the same, translating for WordPress differs from localizing games or films; it does not involve the same copyright restrictions or risks of infringement.
Open Source
As WordPress is 100% open-source under the GPL, its language packs—which are integral to the core software, themes, and plugins—can be translated or improved upon by anyone. More importantly, while there are tens of thousands of high-quality WordPress themes and plugins available, many lack Chinese language support; Weixiaoduo has been working consistently to address this issue.
The past decade
In China, WordPress has faced challenges regarding promotion and usage due to specific national conditions and policies. Over the decade from 2009 to 2019, the situation not only failed to improve but actually worsened. Meanwhile, I have evolved from a naive student into the founder and operator of my own company—a journey filled with many stories to tell.
Our progress to date is inseparable from WordPress. Thanks to the trust of our clients and the technical expertise accumulated over the past few years, we have built this WordPress translation platform specifically to address challenges unique to the Chinese context, ensuring a better experience for WordPress users in China.
